7. Job vacancies and applications

Job vacancies are made available as PDF files in the careers section of our website.

Merely accessing or downloading a job advertisement does not result in any separate processing of applicant data. Only the general technical processing associated with retrieving a file from our website takes place.

If you apply to us, in particular by email, either for an advertised vacancy or on your own initiative, we process the personal data you provide in order to conduct the recruitment procedure and decide whether to establish an employment relationship.

This may include your name and contact details, cover letter, CV, employment history, qualifications, certificates and any other application documents you provide.

The legal basis for processing is Section 26(1), sentence 1 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG).

Where you provide special categories of personal data within the meaning of Article 9(1) GDPR as part of your application and their processing is necessary for the recruitment procedure, processing is additionally governed by the applicable statutory requirements, in particular Article 9(2) GDPR and Section 26(3) BDSG.

Within our company, application data is accessible only to those persons who require it for the respective recruitment procedure.

If an employment relationship is established, the data required for that employment relationship will be transferred to our personnel administration and processed further in accordance with the applicable statutory requirements.

If your application is unsuccessful, your application data will generally be deleted no later than six months after completion of the recruitment procedure. Data will be retained for longer only where this is required in connection with a specific legal dispute or where you have expressly consented to longer retention, for example for consideration in connection with future vacancies.
